Quilts from the Spencer Museum of Art

This catalog of 27 quilts from the collection at the Helen Foresman Spencer Museum of Art at the University of Kansas features terrific photos of the antique quilts with my perspective on the sources and symbolism in floral pattern. Quilts range in age from the late 18th century to the recent past with patterns for five projects based on the antique quilts.

The quilt pictured is Christina Malcom's Sunflower, estimated date: 1840-1884.
